Year in Review - It's a Shower!

Today's the last of the group posts for July's release at My Time Made Easy - have you checked out the new goodies yet?

We're featuring older templates today because, while the new things are awesome, the "old" products are phenomenal too!! I've had showers on the brain lately (maybe because we've been having soooo much rain lately!) so I decided to work with It's a Shower template.

I used cardstock and printed paper I already had in my stash and found some flowers that matched really well. I filled the umbrella with a combination of yellow/blue M&Ms and some gold foil wrapped candies. After wrapping everything in tulle, to keep the candy in place, I realized it's kind of hard to see the details of the umbrella clearly but I think you get the idea.

This was a super easy template to put together and I think it would look awesome on the table at a bridal or baby shower.

Thanks for visiting today and be sure to check out what the rest of the team created for our Year in Review!

    In-Dispensable Part 2

Yay! It's release day at My Time Made Easy!  There's a great new template, beautiful new papers, a couple of cut files that make unique cards and a very versatile, must-have digital stamp set! Be sure to check out all the new goodies when you hop over to the shop!

I have another In-Dispensable gift set for you today that I am so happy with - take a look:

This time I used the lid piece on the template which includes this nice oval window cut out and scalloped edge. Isn't it pretty? I cut the base of my package in pink and the lid in white and then added the decorative Petal Prints paper to dress it all up. If you look really closely, you'll see the pink dots I added to the printed paper (using a Copic marker). I layered a piece of vellum over the oval window before adding my printed layer so there are no rough edges to be seen inside or out.

Then when you open the box:

Voila! A set of 4 cards - here's a view of the entire set:

I used the new stamp set Just a Little Note and printed out 4 different phrases to use on my cards. I also cropped out a small section of a much larger image in the set so I had just a single flower with two leaves to work with. I printed this 4 times, color the image with Copics and then die cut them with an oval die. It's hard to see in the photo but the base of each card is dry embossed and then I simply added a strip of pink cardstock, my sentiments and the flower pieces and quickly had 4 cards ready to be packaged up.

As a card maker, I gift a lot of cards to friends and family so this template will come in really handy for making a nice presentation. What will In-Dispensable inspire you to create?

Be sure to check out what the rest of the team has in store and I'll be back tomorrow with an oldie but goodie!

    In-Dispensable

It's time for some new goodies from My Time Made Easy (releasing tomorrow, July 1st). Today I have a fun package using the new template, In-Dispensable. For this gift, I decided to make a couple of minor adjustments to the template - take a look at the project and then I'll tell you more.

When I started putting In-Dispensable together, it reminded me of one of those boxes that hold candy bars that people bring to work to help their kids sell for school. Sound familiar? So I played off that idea and came up with a fun gift for a co-worker who recently got a promotion.

I created the In-Dispensable template but left off the cover/lid piece. I also added a strip of printed paper (one of the prints in the Country Cakes Pretty Impressions Printables set) to the front edge of the package and one to the top edge. The rectangle of yellow cardstock at the back of the package is also an addition - I wanted something to hold the piece with the computer generated sentiment. No template needed for these pieces - just measure and cut rectangular pieces to fit.

I filled the box with 100 Grand bars because, let's face it - if you got a promotion, that's what you want to start earning, I'm sure - multiple times over!

So that's the first look I have for you of the new In-Dispensable template. I'll be back on the 1st with another sample - this time without the alterations. Meanwhile, be sure to visit my teammates for more indispensable ideas:

    Backpack from GBGD

Hi all! I have a new template to share with you from Girl Boy Girl Designs. This time it's an adorable little backpack but here's the cool thing - you get a tiny version of the template as well as a larger version so you can create the size that's best for you!

I made the small version - and a card to accompany this little cutie -

The card is a standard size so you can judge the size of the backpack. I love the tiny pocket on the front - sooo cute! And take a look at the back:

LOVE the ribbon straps! I added a velcro closure to the main flap so it can be opened easily, a little gift (prefect size for a gift card too!) can be tucked inside and then opened easily by the recipient. I think this would be a great gift for anyone graduating school at any level!

And right now you can get this template 30% off! Check it out - this one's going to come in handy!

I am off for a little vacation with the family but will have a fun Eastery project posting this week so I hope you'll stop back and see what's hopping soon!

    A Bunny Pillow Box

This cutie-patootie pillow box is another template creation from Jen Balding at Girl Boy Girl Designs. What I love about it is that there is a twist from a conventional pillow box - it has a squared, flat bottom so it stands up! So I was thinking Easter and decided to make a Bunny Pillow Box - take a look:

The section that is gray is the pillow box itself. I cut it from a sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock on my Cameo and the great thing about this template is the fold/score lines are "poked" by the machine in the cutting process. Not sure how to describe that but let me tell you, makes scoring much easier! I assembled the box and then made the bunny face using a Nestabilities circle die. One large circle makes the face, 2 smaller ones for the cheeks (which I lightly outlines with pale pink chalk) and 2 even smaller ones for the eyes. That's it. I colored the eyes with a dark gray Copic marker, leaving a tiny piece white. I also added a little pale pink Copic for the mouth and a couple of hand drawn whiskers using a thin tip pen. Finally, the nose was die cut using a tiny flower die and felt (you could also use another small circle, a heart, etc...)

On the top of the pillow box are two holes which you can use to add a ribbon loop. I chose to thread a ribbon loop up through each hole creating two ribbon ears. Then a little matching bow, added with a glue dot, finishes my Easter Bunny box.

Thanks for hopping by and be sure to stop again soon for more creations and what-not! I love what-not.
    Have a good weekend!

    Girl Boy Girl Designs

Hi all! Sorry I've been MIA for a few days - I'm on week 2 of bronchitis and a second round of antibiotics and it's all just been kicking my butt!

BUT, I had a couple of days over the weekend in which I didn't feel like sleeping 20 out of 24 hours so I squeezed in a little crafting. I am joining the team for Girl Boy Girl Designs and I am so excited to play along because Jen has the cutest templates that can be cut on my new Cameo!! (Oh, or any other cutting machine - the Cameo just happens to be what I have but you can use these templates with other systems as well).

This is my first project using the Pretty Purse template -

Isn't it the sweetest thing? And it's the perfect size for a gift card (or other small goodies). I used a piece of heavy double-sided printed paper to create the base of the purse and a pretty pink cardstock for the flap and handle. To dress it up a bit, I embossed the pink sections using an impression plate from Papertrey Ink. Here is a little close up so you can see some of the detail:

I love that added texture! The closure is decorated with a hand-cut felt heart and a big button, threaded with some skinny white ribbon. Might be the perfect Valentine packaging! And easy? The template was so easy to cut and assemble. Be sure to check out the shop and pick up a couple templates for yourself. I'll be back to share more from Girl Boy Girl Designs soon~~
