I'm learning a new hobby - machine embroidery. But in between playing with that, I still will get a little stamping done - this time for the weekly sketch challenge at MFT - my favorite!<br />
<br />
Here is the sketch - and my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CAdghRQwbzk/WtVY2kneenI/AAAAAAAAJVQ/aL16o3fmglg9DBtcEy2Tj2et1iUlmyY6wCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_WSC_380.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="437" data-original-width="550" height="254" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CAdghRQwbzk/WtVY2kneenI/AAAAAAAAJVQ/aL16o3fmglg9DBtcEy2Tj2et1iUlmyY6wCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_WSC_380.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7vZjxpt7np8/WtVY7q6uuZI/AAAAAAAAJVU/haGk6FiAsIQENi5ptFDu1Bk7dpyNQAf_QCLcBGAs/s1600/flamingo.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="610" data-original-width="640" height="381" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7vZjxpt7np8/WtVY7q6uuZI/AAAAAAAAJVU/haGk6FiAsIQENi5ptFDu1Bk7dpyNQAf_QCLcBGAs/s400/flamingo.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The color on the card is a little wonky as the light in my room leaves a lot to be desired. This is a white card, with a striped background from an old Basic Grey paper pad and the stamps are from MFT's Flamazing set. I cheated a little on the sketch by eliminating the small element to the right but that's ok! Sketches are just to get the creative juices flowing.<br />
<br />
Hope to see you again soon!<br />

I'm combining 2 MFT challenges into one card this week - the Sketch challenge and the color challenge. I just started working on Valentine cards and needed something not too girly for my adult son. He loves giraffes so I think he'll enjoy this card.<br />
<br />
Here is the sketch and colors we're working with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qyw69r6OKlc/WmamzimXa1I/AAAAAAAAJTo/ltOqwxfOC4QJb0J1U-jYAtH-mlQtJPatwCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_WSC_368.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="692" data-original-width="550" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qyw69r6OKlc/WmamzimXa1I/AAAAAAAAJTo/ltOqwxfOC4QJb0J1U-jYAtH-mlQtJPatwCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_WSC_368.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J3OXJwKJm18/Wmam1vF2xdI/AAAAAAAAJTs/dZpBzOhMa1E3pq_-c9oQ8kJKx5LQMTdbwCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_85.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="133" data-original-width="640" height="66" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J3OXJwKJm18/Wmam1vF2xdI/AAAAAAAAJTs/dZpBzOhMa1E3pq_-c9oQ8kJKx5LQMTdbwCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_85.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UaLwKWViJ08/Wmam-z4X0bI/AAAAAAAAJTw/K4LD6PYvTqQ-JyThztjx5KxpgRL4ecIFgCLcBGAs/s1600/giraffe2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="538" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UaLwKWViJ08/Wmam-z4X0bI/AAAAAAAAJTw/K4LD6PYvTqQ-JyThztjx5KxpgRL4ecIFgCLcBGAs/s400/giraffe2.jpg" width="336" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the Color Drops dies to create my two-tone heart and the stamp is from Giraffing Me Crazy. The sentiment is from Critter Clan. It's hard to tell in the photo but the sentiment is stamped on pale yellow as is the giraffe. I did move the sentiment to the bottom of the card because it's a long one!<br />
<br />
What are you making for Valentine's Day? I hope to have more to show soon!!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s121.photobucket.com/user/MBryt1/media/Blogs/post-sig4.png.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo post-sig4.png" border="0" src="http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o231/MBryt1/Blogs/post-sig4.png" /></a>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17160486912079842533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35520868.post-82472681963471642482018-01-02T00:06:00.001-05:002018-01-02T00:06:08.888-05:00Long time, no post! MFT Sketch!<br />
I know I haven't posted in awhile but one of my 2018 resolutions is to take more time to do the things i enjoy which include crafting, reading and playing The Sims 4. Yes, I'm a geek. So I'm starting the year with a card I created for this past week's <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/" target="_blank">MFT sketch challenge</a>.<br />
<br />
Here's the sketch:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y8wps1_hpSk/WksPGthQupI/AAAAAAAAJTI/ghW2zGiqa48ic1p3Z8UkEdQiWsXaIlv_QCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_WSC_365.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="692" data-original-width="550" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y8wps1_hpSk/WksPGthQupI/AAAAAAAAJTI/ghW2zGiqa48ic1p3Z8UkEdQiWsXaIlv_QCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_WSC_365.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
And let me tell, I thought I had this all worked out and then as I got toward the end of the card, realized I was one element short. BUT, creative license says that's ok and I went with it as is because another image would have just looked cramped anyhow. I also moved the sentiment. Creative license, people! Here's my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/--3HfPzp2rO8/WksS0sSeF5I/AAAAAAAAJTY/YGchhPMloAwiaM4yJtqjaonp-tZZp17WwCLcBGAs/s1600/penguins.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="531" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/--3HfPzp2rO8/WksS0sSeF5I/AAAAAAAAJTY/YGchhPMloAwiaM4yJtqjaonp-tZZp17WwCLcBGAs/s400/penguins.jpeg" width="331" /></a></div>
<br />
My 2 little penguins are enjoying the cold more than I am! So what are your resolutions for the New Year? Thanks for stopping by!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s121.photobucket.com/user/MBryt1/media/Blogs/post-sig4.png.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo post-sig4.png" border="0" src="https://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o231/MBryt1/Blogs/post-sig4.png" /></a>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17160486912079842533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35520868.post-68343418818369108932017-10-09T22:43:00.003-04:002017-10-09T22:43:40.617-04:00MFT Color ChallengeBack with another card today - this time for the <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/search/label/colorchallenge" target="_blank">MFT Color Challenge</a>. The colors we're using are After Midnight, Lemon Chiffon, Red Hot and Daffodil.<br />
<br />
I got out another yet-to-be-used stamp set, Strike Up the Band, and created this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hpBIW0t7Jlk/WdwzInAOihI/AAAAAAAAJS4/e5c1LHX9Sps6k0jeDRMk1mjGwmiLV2nNwCLcBGAs/s1600/band.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="422" data-original-width="576" height="292" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hpBIW0t7Jlk/WdwzInAOihI/AAAAAAAAJS4/e5c1LHX9Sps6k0jeDRMk1mjGwmiLV2nNwCLcBGAs/s400/band.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I don't know anyone in a band of any kind but I couldn't pass up having these adorable marching bunnies! I used three of the four colors (no Lemon Chiffon in this one) and made the background to match. Cute?<br />
<br />
I just got some more new stamps the other day (birthday gift from my loving hubby) so I am planning some more stamping time ASAP! See you soon!<br /><br />
<br />

<br />
I've decided I need to find more time in my life to enjoy some hobbies so I'm trying to get more creative time - I miss it! One of my favorite stamping challenges is a sketch challenge and I'm currently hooked on <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/2017/09/wednesday-sketch-challenge-sketch-352.html" target="_blank">MFT Stamps</a> so I'm playing along this week.<br />
<br />
Here is the sketch we are working with:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vp1eQbSLqsE/WdLahN3auKI/AAAAAAAAJSc/kGg5JgZX3_4x9tSrPBkbEhGhk_f3rZ_QQCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_WSC_352.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="398" data-original-width="500" height="254" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vp1eQbSLqsE/WdLahN3auKI/AAAAAAAAJSc/kGg5JgZX3_4x9tSrPBkbEhGhk_f3rZ_QQCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_WSC_352.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And here is my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CP8MzmXPqVk/WdLan2Y7wTI/AAAAAAAAJSg/LDOZMSU716AYod5_k19-F6-0GhuR-L-XgCLcBGAs/s1600/robots.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="493" data-original-width="640" height="307" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CP8MzmXPqVk/WdLan2Y7wTI/AAAAAAAAJSg/LDOZMSU716AYod5_k19-F6-0GhuR-L-XgCLcBGAs/s400/robots.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Featuring the Bionic Bots, these guys are ready to wish a special 4 year old a very Happy Birthday! My grandson turns 4 tomorrow and this will be his card. He loves getting cards and I'm sure this one will make him smile.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />

This time I used the Jungle Gym stamps - such cuteness!!! I can't stand it. Anyhow, here's the sketch:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yTMRZHbDaTk/WZHAw9KElDI/AAAAAAAAJSI/EyOXV6P_oaEzxyXuy5XwyCVv2peT2rUJQCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_WSC_345.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="500" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yTMRZHbDaTk/WZHAw9KElDI/AAAAAAAAJSI/EyOXV6P_oaEzxyXuy5XwyCVv2peT2rUJQCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_WSC_345.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's the card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XWtDaOjkG0M/WZHA4G_vN8I/AAAAAAAAJSM/w775F91OR6gGAZGTRICwEWtVd5b46Lz_QCLcBGAs/s1600/monkey.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="533" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XWtDaOjkG0M/WZHA4G_vN8I/AAAAAAAAJSM/w775F91OR6gGAZGTRICwEWtVd5b46Lz_QCLcBGAs/s400/monkey.JPG" width="332" /></a></div>
<br />
I made this one for my grandson to wish him a great first day back to pre-school.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />

Another sketch, another card....time for another <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/" target="_blank">MFT challenge</a>!<br />
<br />
Here's the sketch for the week:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UUB9V9rFA5w/WYk2_l5eQfI/AAAAAAAAJR0/3c6meFjdtxc0d5cy8NjGhfOYt1uyM0FNgCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_WSC_344.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="398" data-original-width="500" height="254" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UUB9V9rFA5w/WYk2_l5eQfI/AAAAAAAAJR0/3c6meFjdtxc0d5cy8NjGhfOYt1uyM0FNgCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_WSC_344.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's the card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0OaDjzB-lxk/WYk3GXDTJTI/AAAAAAAAJR4/g7nfxBgNldEvdS0Ui7jYfkADT7M-1iTlgCLcBGAs/s1600/super.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="630" data-original-width="554" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0OaDjzB-lxk/WYk3GXDTJTI/AAAAAAAAJR4/g7nfxBgNldEvdS0Ui7jYfkADT7M-1iTlgCLcBGAs/s320/super.jpg" width="280" /></a></div>
<br />
Do you see the sketch? Spin it 90 degrees to the left, so the "stripes" are at the bottom. There it is! I used a cityscape stamp (NOT from MFT) as the pointed edge, then added my superhero boy and the saying and lightening bolts as the stripe (only 1....creative license... lol). I colored the clouds and cityscape with colored pencils to keep the colors soft and the boy with Copics so he stands out. This is going to be the first of random cards I send my grandson. He'll enjoy getting his own mail once in awhile, even though he lives just blocks from me.<br />
<br />
Thanks for visiting!<br />

<br />
Here's the sketch:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aXI_Zo_gVFU/WXa_QzC_7II/AAAAAAAAJRY/TQt1veHwKasf_x-ZWnFdklJNRWSdzeyhwCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_WSC_342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="500" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aXI_Zo_gVFU/WXa_QzC_7II/AAAAAAAAJRY/TQt1veHwKasf_x-ZWnFdklJNRWSdzeyhwCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_WSC_342.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZi_DuB9CgY/WXa_XfiCG2I/AAAAAAAAJRc/n-7zzZqWpxM14CpEXud4kakwe7SMkmpcQCLcBGAs/s1600/forest.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="521" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZi_DuB9CgY/WXa_XfiCG2I/AAAAAAAAJRc/n-7zzZqWpxM14CpEXud4kakwe7SMkmpcQCLcBGAs/s400/forest.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I wanted to try some colored pencils on kraft cardstock and they worked out ok but I'm not crazy about the pencil "lines" being seen so much (really noticeable on the bear). But it was a nice departure from markers for a change. And these forest animals are so cute, who cares how they're colored! Thanks for looking!<br />
<br />

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-txXNGVeBQHA/WVHM15IjdXI/AAAAAAAAJQ8/3eM0ddlJI3kRIT9dfCEBc3tCH-ZZuziVQCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_WSC_338.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="500" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-txXNGVeBQHA/WVHM15IjdXI/AAAAAAAAJQ8/3eM0ddlJI3kRIT9dfCEBc3tCH-ZZuziVQCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_WSC_338.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Inside says: Some Days You're the Dog, Some Days You're the Hydrant. Umm, yep.<br />
<br />
See you again soon!<br />

There's 5 challenges total (plus a bonus) and so far I've only finished 2 and the deadline is tomorrow! But that's ok - I enjoyed the little bit of time I had to play.<br />
<br />
Here's my Spectacular Shaker card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--XDTlAe6tTI/WUtNIi4hcJI/AAAAAAAAJQk/bVu6F3LPsAArcxtFDNfgOewV4CL7ISquQCLcBGAs/s1600/xmas%2Bshaker.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--XDTlAe6tTI/WUtNIi4hcJI/AAAAAAAAJQk/bVu6F3LPsAArcxtFDNfgOewV4CL7ISquQCLcBGAs/s400/xmas%2Bshaker.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used the Beast Friends and Oh Christmas Trees stamp sets and a couple of MFT dies to create my shaker card. As you can see, the Christmas tree is stamped in the window, behind acetate, which holds the shaker elements. I colored and watercolored the tree and added the "plaid" to the Yeti's scarf using Copic markers. The sentiment was also added to the front of the card behind the acetate panel. This was a fun one to make and I earned this camp badge:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1S_AkR9fXDU/WUtOBCcB2nI/AAAAAAAAJQs/ZJaywmV2yrMEAidXFcGQ7erHcBSQSoJBwCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_CampCreate__June14_SpectacualrShakersBadge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="440" data-original-width="500" height="281" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1S_AkR9fXDU/WUtOBCcB2nI/AAAAAAAAJQs/ZJaywmV2yrMEAidXFcGQ7erHcBSQSoJBwCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_CampCreate__June14_SpectacualrShakersBadge.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Will I get any more camp challenges finished in time? We'll see! Thanks for stopping by!<br />

I'm running behind with participating in the Camp Create 2017 over at the <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blog/" target="_blank">MFT blog</a> but I'm hoping to get a couple of entries posted before time is up!<br />
<br />
So my card for today is for the Glitzy Glitter challenge. I don't have a lot of MFT dies yet but I had these Heart Balloons dies that are no longer available (sorry!) and these adorable Magical Dragons (which are available and you should definitely buy because they are so darn cute!) so I paired these up with some Basic Grey paper and came up with this card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fN5tMa50m04/WUnsI6k7UZI/AAAAAAAAJQM/eNGjiNsQ1HcTd9JOVB97kiSY4-JeV-l2QCLcBGAs/s1600/dragon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fN5tMa50m04/WUnsI6k7UZI/AAAAAAAAJQM/eNGjiNsQ1HcTd9JOVB97kiSY4-JeV-l2QCLcBGAs/s400/dragon.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I used colors for my dragon that matched the colors in the paper and then used the clear (0) Copic pen to add some texture to the dragon's skin (and to lighten the color up a bit). Of course, the balloon is my glittery element which was fun to make but I'll be cleaning up glitter for three weeks. You know how that is, right?<br />
<br />
Here's my badge for completing this challenge. Hopefully I'll have more to show you in the next two days!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-N7yOHTI15RE/WUnsz3GtZlI/AAAAAAAAJQU/2fE5JZw9X6M2cgTM1-jRhpTJy1c_ozwowCLcBGAs/s1600/MFT_CampCreate__June16_GlitzyGlitterBadge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="440" data-original-width="500" height="281" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-N7yOHTI15RE/WUnsz3GtZlI/AAAAAAAAJQU/2fE5JZw9X6M2cgTM1-jRhpTJy1c_ozwowCLcBGAs/s320/MFT_CampCreate__June16_GlitzyGlitterBadge.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Have a great day!<br />

I'm having a hard time passing these up! Here's the sketch for the week:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DlnvOO7eFJY/WT9Mu99yKHI/AAAAAAAAJP0/q6DFpAC3HBYRtK28st2sJRbrCwWAWRHJwCLcB/s1600/MFT_WSC_336.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="500" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DlnvOO7eFJY/WT9Mu99yKHI/AAAAAAAAJP0/q6DFpAC3HBYRtK28st2sJRbrCwWAWRHJwCLcB/s320/MFT_WSC_336.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
And my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KsVhbNk7TS8/WT9M01-Kn-I/AAAAAAAAJP4/pmT5AuP5GlUZKaayzJvU1xhcaP6q2HxZQCLcB/s1600/giraffe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KsVhbNk7TS8/WT9M01-Kn-I/AAAAAAAAJP4/pmT5AuP5GlUZKaayzJvU1xhcaP6q2HxZQCLcB/s400/giraffe.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm a sucker for an adorable giraffe stamp! Now I have to get back to work {sad face emoji}. See you again soon!<br />

And their stamps, of course. This is a new set I just got the other day and I had so much fun coloring! Here's my Mermazing card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BUWiTi_PEDs/WSx1D9_S4SI/AAAAAAAAJPg/rMtxQ2HQ8lQ-KlJvaB7ulvE3JR436tOxACLcB/s1600/mermaid.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1205" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BUWiTi_PEDs/WSx1D9_S4SI/AAAAAAAAJPg/rMtxQ2HQ8lQ-KlJvaB7ulvE3JR436tOxACLcB/s400/mermaid.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
How cute is she? I based the layout on this sketch - just turned it sideways:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XLITsiYTU38/WSx1SsxIkdI/AAAAAAAAJPk/JYv4hyxYy0cugdqyddVHklCdrewwLJUzQCLcB/s1600/MFT_WSC_334.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="500" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XLITsiYTU38/WSx1SsxIkdI/AAAAAAAAJPk/JYv4hyxYy0cugdqyddVHklCdrewwLJUzQCLcB/s320/MFT_WSC_334.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>

They're just so cute - I can't resist! This is another card I made for a sketch challenge. Here's the sketch:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X_xUFUIVQVk/WQfqx6-J1wI/AAAAAAAAJPM/PkysbGIJ2KwxlE0LeMuoffuICW--JGnHwCLcB/s1600/MFT_WSC_330.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X_xUFUIVQVk/WQfqx6-J1wI/AAAAAAAAJPM/PkysbGIJ2KwxlE0LeMuoffuICW--JGnHwCLcB/s320/MFT_WSC_330.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's my card using the Up in the Air set:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-29-R7JrI2Mo/WQfrAABwQtI/AAAAAAAAJPQ/Mdv0syIVHGIetFviD54MD_LhPwA3MDe2gCLcB/s1600/elephant.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-29-R7JrI2Mo/WQfrAABwQtI/AAAAAAAAJPQ/Mdv0syIVHGIetFviD54MD_LhPwA3MDe2gCLcB/s400/elephant.JPG" width="326" /></a></div>
<br />
The balloon is all paper pieced and the elephant was stamped and colored with Copic markers. Thanks for stopping by!<br />
<br />

I enjoyed making this card for a friend and, although I adjusted the sketch a bit, it helped me come up with a great layout! Here is the original sketch:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qE8BK5enq-Y/WPlqcQpyGSI/AAAAAAAAJO4/e3C4-FwxGqoMmM-6WP_gTyLs1y3Jx_m3gCLcB/s1600/MFT_WSC_329.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qE8BK5enq-Y/WPlqcQpyGSI/AAAAAAAAJO4/e3C4-FwxGqoMmM-6WP_gTyLs1y3Jx_m3gCLcB/s320/MFT_WSC_329.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is the card I made:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TDEVhVMCS5E/WPlqj9GbdcI/AAAAAAAAJO8/PpcO2gamJ2g-nhPt-RJRbymX2GLpzBgngCLcB/s1600/PI%2Bbirthday.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TDEVhVMCS5E/WPlqj9GbdcI/AAAAAAAAJO8/PpcO2gamJ2g-nhPt-RJRbymX2GLpzBgngCLcB/s400/PI%2Bbirthday.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
<br />
I flipped the sketch and put the vertical strips on the right side rather than the left. I also eliminated the small circle element. But I think the sketch is still pretty evident. And I think this is the first time I have used a Pure Innocence image (although it is an older one, but she's so darn cute!!) Oh and the sentiment is from the Sweet Sloths stamp set.<br />
<br />
Thanks for popping by and taking a look!<br />
<br />

I had to break open my new set, Ninja-mazing because, well because they're just so darn cute!<br />
<br />
Here's the sketch:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gBnRD-5OAAk/WOw8T2RN99I/AAAAAAAAJOk/wzz62-hCzuY2VpYw3wJ9LYSmGNBTd96RgCLcB/s1600/MFT_WSC_327.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gBnRD-5OAAk/WOw8T2RN99I/AAAAAAAAJOk/wzz62-hCzuY2VpYw3wJ9LYSmGNBTd96RgCLcB/s320/MFT_WSC_327.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D4sBULoMGGU/WOw8fCu6YBI/AAAAAAAAJOo/6V4O6HAXGoAKDi8X8H9bE-huie7qkAylwCLcB/s1600/ninja.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D4sBULoMGGU/WOw8fCu6YBI/AAAAAAAAJOo/6V4O6HAXGoAKDi8X8H9bE-huie7qkAylwCLcB/s400/ninja.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I know! Can you handle the cuteness? The star printed paper was a scrap I had. I stamped the ninja on kraft cardstock and then colored him with Copic markers and added some white pencil highlights.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s121.photobucket.com/user/MBryt1/media/Blogs/post-sig4.png.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo post-sig4.png" border="0" src="http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o231/MBryt1/Blogs/post-sig4.png" /></a>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17160486912079842533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35520868.post-50950481864099719732017-03-28T00:03:00.001-04:002017-03-28T00:03:54.954-04:00MFT Sketch Challenge 325I recently splurged on some new stamps and couldn't wait to start playing with them! Buuutttt.....it turns out that the MFT Sketch challenge I wanted to participate in was screaming for an older set and you know how it is - when the stamps are calling your name, you go with it! New stamps will just have to wait their turn!<br />
<br />
Here's the sketch for this week:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GEpLykTx79U/WNnfnoHcieI/AAAAAAAAJOM/rvKvj56aisAJoy17RGmVFydB98mSSPm2wCLcB/s1600/sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GEpLykTx79U/WNnfnoHcieI/AAAAAAAAJOM/rvKvj56aisAJoy17RGmVFydB98mSSPm2wCLcB/s320/sketch.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's my take on it, using the BBD set Every Day is a Picnic:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-x108lzB2OMc/WNnf6hjNQYI/AAAAAAAAJOQ/S8u7J7yssBUld5hP_kpvFgQuwVgeAJSIACLcB/s1600/picnic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-x108lzB2OMc/WNnf6hjNQYI/AAAAAAAAJOQ/S8u7J7yssBUld5hP_kpvFgQuwVgeAJSIACLcB/s400/picnic.jpg" width="348" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I also used the colors for the MFT Color Challenge which are Safety Orange, Cranberry Cocktail, Tropical Teal and Tangy Orange. This little gal was super fun to color and I haven't had a chance to stamp in awhile so it felt good chilling out with some Copic markers!<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s121.photobucket.com/user/MBryt1/media/Blogs/post-sig4.png.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo post-sig4.png" border="0" src="http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o231/MBryt1/Blogs/post-sig4.png" /></a>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17160486912079842533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35520868.post-140856913325566882017-02-20T19:43:00.001-05:002017-03-28T00:04:33.552-04:00Valentine PigWitThis month I am playing along with the Stamp of the Month challenge at <a href="http://fromtheheartstamps.com/" target="_blank">From the Heart Stamps</a>. I love this little guy from Hogs and Kisses and thought it would be the perfect Valentine for my son.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rJeh6CA-GQQ/WKuMeuh6BbI/AAAAAAAAJN4/aYjGLPLe0FUoguqnafslq1hSPqcwg2gkACLcB/s1600/pigwit.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rJeh6CA-GQQ/WKuMeuh6BbI/AAAAAAAAJN4/aYjGLPLe0FUoguqnafslq1hSPqcwg2gkACLcB/s400/pigwit.JPG" width="318" /></a></div>
<br />
I randomly placed the digital kiss image on my background in Photoshop and printed it out and then colored the kisses with a pale gray Copic marker. A little blue was added to the xoxo's on the tags. PigWit himself was printed and colored with a variety of Copics also, cut into a square and mounted on an angle over my background. The inside of the card sports the phrase Hogs and Kisses which is included in this adorable digi set.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by - I hope to find more time to play soon!<br />

I haven't even been creating much in the past year. That's not entirely true - I've been creating vinyl car decals for sale in my Etsy shop and I've even gotten back to scrapbooking a little bit. But stamping? Not very much. But recently I reacquainted myself with My Favorite Things stamps and had to buy a few ca-ute sets and this year, I hope to play along with a few of their <a href="http://www.cardchallenges.com/" target="_blank">challenges</a>.<br />
<br />
This is the first sketch challenge of 2017 and I combined it with the color challenge as well. Here's the colors:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oN1OG9gvZ0w/WHB9xf3eDxI/AAAAAAAAJNY/gfT3qiTOQCQZbhsMsoedS4kxJaZCgT0sACLcB/s1600/color.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="66" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oN1OG9gvZ0w/WHB9xf3eDxI/AAAAAAAAJNY/gfT3qiTOQCQZbhsMsoedS4kxJaZCgT0sACLcB/s320/color.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And the sketch we're working with is:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WJQ88BugOlU/WHB-FY7CayI/AAAAAAAAJNc/xanxsCXO6GwcPsLuPMZyaj8spj92MrEIACLcB/s1600/sketch.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WJQ88BugOlU/WHB-FY7CayI/AAAAAAAAJNc/xanxsCXO6GwcPsLuPMZyaj8spj92MrEIACLcB/s320/sketch.png" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
And finally, here's my card, using the Recipe for Happiness stamp set:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IxXcb-LQzrY/WHB-ZdEgveI/AAAAAAAAJNg/hwq6LIH15_sgj_6u_68rZP1iqcxucBepQCLcB/s1600/chef.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IxXcb-LQzrY/WHB-ZdEgveI/AAAAAAAAJNg/hwq6LIH15_sgj_6u_68rZP1iqcxucBepQCLcB/s400/chef.JPG" width="323" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm putting this one aside for my husband for Valentine's Day. Isn't he cute (just like my hubby!!)?<br />
<br />
Thanks for popping by - I hope to share here more often in 2017 or friend me on Facebook.<br />

This month, I'm playing along with the <a href="http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/2016/06/03/free-stamp-of-the-month-june-2016-ice-cream-lineup/" target="_blank">Stamp of the Month challenge</a> at From the Heart. I love the digital stamps from this site and the challenge is so easy - just use the Stamp of the Month and create whatever you want! Then, when you play along, you get the next month's Stamp of the Month image free so you can play again...and again...and so on!<br />
<br />
This month's digital stamp is called Ice Cream Lineup and it's a perfect image for summer!<br />Here's my 5x5 card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GeDjWMJjTVc/V3VgINDTGWI/AAAAAAAAJMg/8587vdAadS8cXqvr5jicllp476bM2F09gCLcB/s1600/image1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GeDjWMJjTVc/V3VgINDTGWI/AAAAAAAAJMg/8587vdAadS8cXqvr5jicllp476bM2F09gCLcB/s400/image1.JPG" width="342" /></a></div>
<br />
I wanted to use a lot of colors to make my card summery and I colored the ice cream to match my favorite flavors: caramel, strawberry and mint chocolate chip! Yummy! And isn't that sentiment perfect? We all need a treat once in awhile!<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and go have yourself a dish of ice cream!<br />
<br />

Here's just one of the sample pieces posted for inspiration:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LbJYb94JTqE/VvTPXXwlzUI/AAAAAAAAJMI/W-ugshsG1a45i3R9y1E1izA1lSN1WqPlA/s1600/pti.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LbJYb94JTqE/VvTPXXwlzUI/AAAAAAAAJMI/W-ugshsG1a45i3R9y1E1izA1lSN1WqPlA/s320/pti.jpg" width="251" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
It's a combination of art and embroidery created by Izziyana Suhaimi - stunning! We were challenged to use embroidery somehow in our card this month. I just got my most recent PTI order and had a new border die that I thought I would play with and while I experimented and know what I would do differently next time, the look is still pretty cool. Here's my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GhTuQNq6kNs/VvTQBr2sdYI/AAAAAAAAJMM/azgcAqzSOeg-bDa3AjrGlgflRpB_hlr6g/s1600/celebrate.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="483" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GhTuQNq6kNs/VvTQBr2sdYI/AAAAAAAAJMM/azgcAqzSOeg-bDa3AjrGlgflRpB_hlr6g/s640/celebrate.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used one of the new Frosted Borders dies and punched the small pieces in the lower half of the die completely out so I had "holes" for stitching. Then I used 4 colors of floss threaded through to create a little color on my Soft Stone border. The Sentiment Signs stamp was added to white cardstock with Spring Rain Ink and I swiped over the word 'celebrate' with a pale pink Copic marker. I mounted the white to an Enchanted Evening piece of cardstock and mounted the whole thing on a Soft Stone card base, allowing the border to hang off the bottom edge.<br />
<br />
Not bad for an experiment! The holes formed by the border are a little larger than I anticipated so if I repeat this, I would use a thicker thread or fiber to stitch so not so much space would be seen. Play and learn!<br />
<br />
Enjoy hopping and Hoppy Easter!!<br />
<br />

Quick plug - if you know anyone into comics, Star Wars, anime, gaming and all other geeky topics, please share the link to <a href="http://www.mynerdnation.com/" target="_blank">Nerd Nation</a> with them. We would love some new visitors!!<br />
<br />
Anyhow, I know you're here for the <a href="http://www.papertreyink.com/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink</a> blog hop so let's get to it!<br />
<br />
Our inspiration photo this month is:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fB0gb0cKYiE/Vs6VDWx9sxI/AAAAAAAAJLU/ID8kJeVnT1w/s1600/pti%2Bbloghop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fB0gb0cKYiE/Vs6VDWx9sxI/AAAAAAAAJLU/ID8kJeVnT1w/s320/pti%2Bbloghop.jpg" width="268" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And the first thing my eye went to was the pear, and the pale pink flower. Here is the card I created based on the photo:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Fru1Fmm-4xg/Vs6WGXg_nYI/AAAAAAAAJLc/hHbIrpzPwwQ/s1600/pears.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Fru1Fmm-4xg/Vs6WGXg_nYI/AAAAAAAAJLc/hHbIrpzPwwQ/s400/pears.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used Sweet Blush and Spring Moss cardstocks to make the three panels on my kraft card base. I stamped the pears from A Second Helping of Sunshine in Spring Moss and added some highlights with Copic markers. The bowls were stamped in Autumn Rose and Classic Kraft, then they were cut out and inked around the edges for definition. I added some tiny flowers along the bottom of the bowls in Sweet Blush with Copic colored centers. To finish it off, I wanted a slightly rustic feel so I added some crocheted cream lace and a few wraps of tan twine.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and for more hopping, head over to Nichole's blog <a href="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xVdSKBZ6Ae8/VgV4UcS_t6I/AAAAAAAAJHE/a-HiO5SViFY/s1600/wreath.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xVdSKBZ6Ae8/VgV4UcS_t6I/AAAAAAAAJHE/a-HiO5SViFY/s320/wreath.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
So I wanted to incorporate the chalkboard look and the frame in some way and this is what I came up with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lD0DNlOTRoI/VgV4qg2HTCI/AAAAAAAAJHM/rlJJnv2V-lk/s1600/scale.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lD0DNlOTRoI/VgV4qg2HTCI/AAAAAAAAJHM/rlJJnv2V-lk/s400/scale.jpg" width="322" /></a></div>
<br />
I decided the chalkboard look isn't something I'm very good at but maybe worth a try now and again.<br />
<br />
I started with black cardstock and embossed the scale from A Second Helping of Sunshine stamp set and the words "bundle of joy" from Mega Mixed Messages. The primary school paper lines came from Desktop Designs and the swirly corners from Half and Half to create a wreath-type effect. These were stamped with white ink and not embossed. I used a pale blue colored pencil on the swirls and matted the piece on Spring Rain cardstock to match. I added the height and weight with stamps from another company and, as you can see, lining these up was not a success for me. That's what happens when you are working with wood mounted stamps! The name was also created with stamps from elsewhere and added to Spring Rain cardstock mounted to a black card base.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s121.photobucket.com/user/MBryt1/media/Blogs/post-sig4.png.html" target="_blank"><img alt=" photo post-sig4.png" border="0" src="http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o231/MBryt1/Blogs/post-sig4.png" /></a>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17160486912079842533noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35520868.post-38753175025174970572015-06-25T10:19:00.001-04:002015-06-25T10:19:17.629-04:00Papertrey Ink Blog HopI know, I know...I haven't blogged in ages! Things have been a little crazy in my life. I recently left my job and I am catching up on a lot of things I have shoved to the back burner, so to speak. And I'm looking for a new job, as well. Creatively, I have been busy but not so much with cards. I've been trying to increase my product selections at my Etsy store (<a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/CreativeMaryment?ref=hdr_shop_menu">https://www.etsy.com/shop/CreativeMaryment?ref=hdr_shop_menu</a>) so I've been trying new things and posting over there, rather than here.<br />
<br />
But today, I took a little time to play along with the <a href="http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/" target="_blank">Papertrey Ink</a> monthly blog hop cause you know how I love PTI!<br />
<br />
Our inspiration was this photo:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mUbmrCxtMbo/VYwLsp-6jcI/AAAAAAAAJGU/pYm3eGgxy8M/s1600/untitled2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mUbmrCxtMbo/VYwLsp-6jcI/AAAAAAAAJGU/pYm3eGgxy8M/s320/untitled2.png" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
And this is the card I created:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yfLDTF8gb9I/VYwL2CKGq_I/AAAAAAAAJGc/jhGahDd0BXs/s1600/wish%2Bbig.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yfLDTF8gb9I/VYwL2CKGq_I/AAAAAAAAJGc/jhGahDd0BXs/s400/wish%2Bbig.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the Chevron Vertical Die to create the gray overlay which I adhered to the white card base. I used the Scrolling Script stamps (now in the vault) to stamp my sentiment and then hand cut and rolled a peachy/orange flower as an embellishment, which I added with a glue dot.<br />
<br />
Simple but effective, no?<br />
<br />
If you'd like to recreate the flower, it's super easy to do. Hand cut a circle from a piece of cardstock. It doesn't have to be a perfect circle - wavy edges work great! Starting at the outside edge, cut a spiral in the circle. Again, we're not going for perfection. Then start rolling from the outer edge of the spiral and continue rolling until you reach the center, keeping the roll nice and tight. Now let the roll relax a little and glue it in place using a couple glue dots on the bottom. That's it! Add to a card or package for a fun embellishment. You can see more of my hand rolled flowers in shadow boxes on my Etsy store (link above).<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />

I pulled out asset I haven't used in a long time - Button Boutique - and paired it with the Aida Impression plate:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YLQ4mlr65Vw/VTuj42yaC-I/AAAAAAAAJFQ/kHhgh7THnIU/s1600/buttons.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YLQ4mlr65Vw/VTuj42yaC-I/AAAAAAAAJFQ/kHhgh7THnIU/s1600/buttons.jpg" height="328" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The buttons are an assortment of pink things I had that fit perfectly in the sections. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages.<br />
