Photographing artwork

So as I am attempting to post more artwork to this blog, I am searching for the best way to photograph the things I am hoping to post. I used to scan everything but the more embellies I add to something, the harder it is to scan! Photographing the pieces seems to be better but I can't seem to find the right setting, location, lighting...got any tips? Leave me a comment and let me know what works for you!

Here's the most recent card I made using the Nestabilities as an embossing tool only without doing any cutting. I like this technique, it makes a nice frame to work with.

I used the Nestie as a mask also to chalk around and then inked my Kim Hughes stamp with three colors of CTMH ink and stamped in my "frame" then added some random leaves floating down the right side, a little saying to the left bottom corner and an organza ribbon and bow in CTMH Autumn Terracotta to the top edge. I'm ready for fall - how about you?

Mary -

I would love to know how to photograph stuff better too. It drives me crazy with glare, etc...using the flash, but then natural light can be so finicky too.

Ahhh...the fun of it all.
