Today is one of my favorite days of the month - the Papertrey Ink blog hop! I love working with PTI products and seeing what I can create and working with great products usually results in artwork I am happy to share!
Our inspiration this month was this photo:
I love this color combination so much I am using it as my theme for a new business venture I am starting - stay tuned for more on that soon! So I let the colors be the driving force for the card I created:
I started with a page of book print and stamped the leaves from Rosie Posie in a border on the left. I added that to a background of Ripe Avocado and added a band of black toward the top. The black cardstock was impressed with the Diamonds impression plate and then tied with a black ribbon and bow. This was then mounted to a cream card base. The final piece is the image from the 2012 Birthday Tags set. I stamped it in black on cream cardstock and colored in the leaves to match the ones I stamped. Then I embossed the entire piece three times with clear ep. That tag is now nice and shiny!
Here's a close-up so you can see the embossing a little better. I love the end result but then again, you just can't go wrong with PTI products!
Thanks for stopping by. Your comments are always appreciated!
