A Chair-ished Birthday Hop

Today is Janet's (from Corrosive Challenges) Birthday so a few of us got together to wish her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY with a fun hop!

Here is the list of the hoppers - you will want to follow the trail and leave Janet some birthday wishes along the way, ok?

So this birthday celebration gave me the perfect opportunity to play with a new Papertrey Ink set - Chair-ished, designed by Lisa Johnson. These cards were so much fun to create, it should be illegal!

Here's my card for Janet - hope your day is the BEST!

This card also triples as my entry this week at Mojo Monday and as an entry for Three Cheers for Chairs Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  You can still play along with these challenges but you have to hurry!

The paper is all from Basic Grey (Green at Heart and Sugar Rush), cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. The chairs were all paper pieced except for the rocker and I added a paper pieced pillow, complete with a french knot in the center, to that chair. The border punch is from Fiskars and the pom-pom trim was in my stash.

I love the retro-y colors and the fun trim - pom-poms just remind me of home decor, for some reason. Might be from the curtains in my grandma's kitchen years ago that had a similar trim (and maybe a shower curtain somewhere along the way, too!)

But I couldn't stop at just one card - because this set is sooo much fun - so here's another Chair-ished card to share with you:

This one is a little more vintage looking, with the subdued colors. The card base was embossed with the Houndstooth Cuttlebug embossing folder and the chairs were paper pieced (love that technique!) but I am not sure who that paper is from. Cardstock is from PTI. I added a little C1 Copic marker at the bottom of all of the chair legs so they would be a little bit grounded and not floating. Although a floating chair might be fun!

So that's all from me - I hope you enjoyed this Birthday hop! Don't forget to head to the next stop on the hop and that would be at Nancy's blog: http://cardworthy.blogspot.com/

Have a great day and I will see you again tomorrow for another Corrosive Challenge!

Love these chairs, Mary! I agree--even paperpieced images need a little copic shading. Nice work!
