Time Out Tuesday - wave goodbye to summer

Labor Day is over, school has started, the evenings are cool, the leaves on my dogwood are turning a little red around the edges....time to wave goodbye to summer. While I expect we will get a heat wave about the middle of October, swimming season is at an end. But I have to say, with the exception of leaf raking the mounds and MOUNDS of leaves we have in our yard, Autumn is my favorite season! But before we get all into holiday preparations, I have a final "summer" card to share with you:

Did you have any of these lawn chairs in the "old days"? We did, they were green, and they tipped over fairly easy if you weren't careful! But they remind me of summers at my Grandparent's lake house...sitting on the porch, across from the lake, visiting with cousins, no cares in the world. Ahhhh...I need more of those days!

The image is from Karen Lockhart and was colored with Copics and cut with Nestabilites Label 4 (I believe). Paper is from Cosmo Cricket and a couple of buttons from my stash.

What plans do you have for the Fall? We are looking forward to vacation coming up in a few weeks and then my hubby has to have surgery before the year is over so we have our ups and downs this season. And of course, preparing for the various holidays and bringing you more creative goodness!

Until next time, have a creative one!

Sorry to hear Tod has to have surgery. Love your card! Our fall plans include two birthdays, a camping trip, trip to Indianapolis, and Halloween stuff.

The memories your card brings back are true for me too in many ways!

Sorry to hear about the surgery; keep us posted and we'll be praying.

No, we never had chairs like that, but glad it brought back memories for you. Cute card, I like the summery paper and colors.

Oh yes!! My grandparents had chairs and a glider like this. The chairs were in the back, but the glider was on their front porch, and I'd get in such trouble for going too fast on it and banging into the wall :)

I really should pick up this stamp and make some cards for my mom & aunt with it - they'd love it!! Looks gorgeous here with the Cosmo Cricket papers!!
