MyGrafico Monday - Back to School!

So here in NW Ohio, most of the schools are back in session already but our neighbors to the north in Michigan start after Labor Day. I'm always torn about back to school -I always think I will like the routine of school more than the lack of routine in the summer but as my son is now older, the routine doesn't mean as much to me. Especially since I have to work whether it is school time or not. So MY routine doesn't change much except to get a little busier transporting him back and forth, helping with homework, scheduling his testing, etc... Actually, school means MORE work for me! But I like that he is not spending as much of his time simply playing on the computer - I think the focus of school is good for him. And if it wasn't for school, he'd have to get a job so either way, he'd be in a routine that he wouldn't enjoy much!

But I do miss the days when the kids just got on a bus and were gone doing their thing all day at school. I enjoyed the back to school shopping, packing lunches, helping with homework that wasn't Statistics or MacroEconomics.....so this card reminds me of the "good old days of school"

Isn't she sweet? The image is one from the set that YOU can win if you participate in the challenge over at MyGrafico Challenge blog. All you have to do is create a back to school project. We'd love for you to use an image from MyGrafico, if possible (check their site for freebies - you never know what you'll find!)

Once you have your project created, post it to your blog or other online gallery (be sure to use keyword MG15) and then head over to the challenge blog and leave a comment so we can go check out your creation. Be sure to post by Sunday night to be eligible to win this set:

In case you were wondering, here are some details on my card:

I created the chalkboard from cardstock and inked the edges of the frame to add a little dimension. The letters were then stamped using CTMH White Daisy ink. The lined patterned paper was punched and layered onto the plaid DP, the chalkboard was added and then the Copic colored image. A band of ribbon was added to the top right corner and also ties a small pencil to the card front as an embellishment. Take a look at what the rest of the DT created from this set as well - the list of links is in the sidebar ----->

I hope your children enjoy their back to school experience - and be sure to take their picture! 1st day of school is a photo-op MUST!

Until next time - have a great Labor Day!

What a cute card! That school girl is just darling. When I saw the sheet of images, the one in the hat reminds me of Madeleine.

Cute image! I really like that plaid paper you chose and the notebook paper. I am still lingering in those early school years with one in second grade still . . .
