Corrosive in pink and green!

This week's Corrosive Challenge is all about color! The requested colors to use are Melon Mambo (pink) and Kiwi Kiss (bright green) (SU colors). As I don't have any SU colors, I improvised and got as close as I could using CTMH colors Bubblegum and Citrus Leaf.

This is a sneak peek of my Christmas card this year. I love it! It's easy to reproduce, it's not bulky (so no extra postage), it matches my freebie envelopes perfectly, and it's fresh and funky. Perfecto!

The stocking and sentiment are from a new set by PaperTrey Ink called Stocking Prints. I loved it because the stocking is not a holiday symbol you see too often so I thought it would be a great image for a holiday card. Cardstock and ink is from CTMH, as mentioned. Ribbon is from PaperTrey.

Here are some ideas to try next time you are stamping:

*Keep your background simple and uncluttered. Patterned paper is wonderful (and frankly, one can never have too much of it!) but a clean, plain background can really make an image pop!

*Keep embellishments to a minimum and avoid higher mailing rates. Instead of wrapping the card front with ribbon, I trimmed the ends even with the background paper and adhered the ribbon using Scor-Tape. The only other embellishment is a little prisma glitter on the cuff of the stocking.

I hope you will check out what the rest of the Corrosive DT has to share with you this week - you can find links to all the members in the sidebar. And be sure to play along and show us what you create with pink and bright green! Just link over at the Corrosive Challenge blog and you might be this week's winner!

I'll be back Tuesday with a MyGrafico sketch challenge!
