..... I married my high school sweetheart! Here's a picture of us on the happy day, all those years ago:
Yep, both of us all in white...Tod sporting that sexy 'stache...could we be any cuter? It's kinda hard to see very clearly in the photo but just to give a shout out to my dear Grandma, she made my wedding gown. It was simple but very pretty and me. And it hid the baby bump quite well. (Yeah, family scandal in 1980...told you that 'stache was sexy....)
We had an early in the day wedding and an afternoon reception with no alcohol (except champagne punch), no dancing, no dinner (just appetizers) and all over by 6 pm. Party animals we are not. Of course, being 5 months pregnant didn't really elicit the desire to dance on tables or anything. Or drink. Although, back then we weren't as careful about stuff like that when we were pregnant. I even ate bologna.
So how did we celebrate 29 years of marital bliss? We traveled about an hour from home, to the big town of Archbold, Ohio, where we stayed last night at the Sauder Heritage Inn in the middle of a soybean field. We had a buffet dinner. We talked and watched TV. I didn't sleep well AT ALL because a.) I now have Jacob's sick thing b.) I don't like hotel beds c.) the darn AC in the room blew on my face all night so that my eyelids were frozen and d.) I don't like hotel beds. Did I mention this trip was my idea?
Oh and there was no dancing on the tables this year either. Just the way we like it.
Happy Anniversary to the love of my life. Here's to 29 more!

It was one of the best weddings I've ever been to and the closest I've been to the bride without being the bride =).--The 1980s scandal
Congratulations! 29 years is a huge accomplishment but I think that when you hit the 30 year mark, table dancing is a must :)
Congratulations!!! It is so nice to hear a success story, baby bump and all. ;) Here's to at least 29 more!
Congrats and Happy Anniversary Mary! Wishing you many more happy years!
Happy Anniversary! And best wishes for many, many more.
Happy Anniversary - maybe your hubby will grow back that 'stache for your 30th :)
Happy Anniversary!!
Congratulations! That's quite an accomplishment these days!!!
Happy Anniversary! LOL at Aimee's signature.
Happy Anniversary! What a great milestone to celebrate for 29 years. I just love your story and how grandma made your wedding gown. You have a lot of wonderful memories..
Wow! 29 years is a long time. Congratulations.
The frozen eyelid comment made me laugh! My husband has sleep apnea and his CPAP machine freezes mine if he tilts his head just right!
What a lovely story :-)
