Treat holder plus yellow butterfly

EDIT: My mistake - I mentioned below that no one played along with the sketch last week but that's not true! Lisa made a great card using a wild zebra stripe print. Thanks for playing Lisa!

I promised I would share the treat holder that I used for the candy filled test tubes I was giving my hubby for Valentine's Day. It's not too fancy as I cut myself way short of time to complete but at least it added a little to the presentation:

This was created from Lauren Meader's template Lolli-pop-along, which you can purchase through Paper Trey Ink for just $5 and download right to your pc to use. I love Lauren's templates - they are all very unique and versatile and make gift giving so much easier and prettier! No sense in trying to come up with your own design when all the work has been done for you, I say! Each template comes not only with directions but also with pages of ideas on how to use the template. Love 'em!

Again, this one was left pretty basic - it could have been dressed up a lot more but then again, it was for a man and I didn't want anything too frilly! The base is CTMH textured cardstock with sections of patterned paper (not sure who from - it was a scrap) adhered over the base, and the sleeve or outer wrap was made with an acrylic sheet used to make clear cards and what-not. I know it's kind of hard to see in the picture - clear things are hard to photograph! A bow holds it all closed at the top and then I adhered a chipboard heart to the front to tie in with the patterned paper on the base. Anyhow, that's just a little info on this test tube base. Now on to the 2nd part of this post -

This card was made for a good friend who will be celebrating her birthday next week. It was based on a sketch challenge being presented by Little Paper Shop and it was so much fun to put together!

The beautiful 2-sided DP is from imaginisce and the butterfly image is a stamp from Paper Trey Ink. After stamping the butterfly with CTMH Buttercup ink, and adding some highlights with a blue Copic marker to match, I painted a thin coat of Diamond Stickles over the butterfly for shimmer. Then I stitched a yellow bead onto it's body and bent the wings forward for a 3D look. It was adhered onto a pice that I random stamped with a small flower (also from the butterfly stamp set) again using Buttercup ink and a Copic for flower centers. The white band was created with a Fiskars punch and the saying was stamped in Crystal Blue ink (CTMH) and added to a nestie cut scalloped circle of paper. It's so shimmery and pretty up close and personl - I think she'll love it!
