Curtain Call challenge

Sneaking in under the wire on this one! The Curtain Call challenge is entitled Soft Scarf and inspiration was to be found in this photo:

I love the colors and that scarf certainly makes me think of the cold temps we've been having lately! And one of the ways I like to warm up is with a big cup of hot chocolate so that's where I took the inspiration for my card:

I used the Hero Arts set Have a Donut and created my hot cocoa cup by stamping it on white, coloring with Copics and then texturing with a paper towel that had been dipped in Copic colorless blender fluid. The cup cozie was stamped separately on blue cardstock and cut out and I added some fibers wrapped around it to represent the fibers of the scarf.

Here's a close up of the impressed background:

It's still kind of hard to see but it's a knit type texture (impression plate from Papertrey Ink). I kept the layers simple and in white and blue to add to the feeling of cold contrasting the warmth of the drink.

Hero Arts is sponsoring the challenge this week and I was happy to use one of their sets in this challenge. Thanks for popping by and I'll see you again soon!

Sweet card Mary. Love that cup. Looks so real with the fibers and textured look. The softly dry embossed background looks great. Thank you for playing along with us at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.
