Pretty Palette Challenge

I love when part of a card is chosen for me and I have less to figure out. Like working with a good sketch or a fabulous color palette. That's why I love the Pretty Palette Challenges - the colors are picked for me so I have one less thing to think about! And this week, the colors even coordinate with some beautiful Christmasy digital paper (coming in December) from My Time Made Easy - check out how gorgeous!

And here is the card I put together:

I started off by printing a sheet of the paper in the Christmas Patina set and an ornament from the digi set Beautiful Baubles. The ornament was then colored with Copics and cut out. I ran the ornament through my Xyron sticker maker and glittered the entire piece. Originally, the glitter was a little too strong and muted the colors too much but I found that by lightly sanding over the piece, a lot of the glitter removed but there was still enough left to make the entire ornament shimmer!

I mounted the ornament with foam tape onto a double stacked mat, ran some twine around the card and tied in a bow at the top of the ornament so it appears to be hanging from the cord. A large brad gave the ornament a nice topper from which to "hang".

I hope you'll join us this week and play with this color palette. You can use any stamps, paper or theme so jump in and join the fun at the Pretty Palette Challenge! See you there!
