Color Challenge at H2H

Time for a new Heart 2 Heart challenge and this week, it's all about color - Indian Corn Blue, Sunset and Brown Bag to be exact!

If you don't have these exact CTMH colors, something close will do :)

I kept my card fairly simple but included a couple of Big Ideas I hope you will find useful! *(Big Ideas will now be featured with Monday H2H posts - look for them weekly!)

* Instead of matting an image piece, try adding just a pop of color. After stamping my image, I cut the piece with a large scallop Nestabilities die. Then instead of matting the entire piece, I punched small holes in each scallop and backed the piece with cardstock so the color shows through.

* Don't have the right color of ribbon? Try this - start with a plain white ribbon (I used satin). Open your inkpad and lay your ribbon across the ink  - in this case, satin side against the ink. Now close the inkpad and hold one end of the ribbon and slowly pull the ribbon out of the inkpad case - this will color the ribbon with ink as you are pulling. Allow to dry a bit before adding to your card or the ink may smear.

Watch for a ribbon video from me soon that will show this technique. I hope to have it posted by the end of the week.

I hope you will play along with us this week at H2H and try your hand at a creation using these colors! And be sure to check out what the rest of the team created. See you again soon!

Fabulous card! (I just made a card this week where I backed a scallop with cardstock too....great minds, I tell you.)

What a beautiful card! It is so 'soft' and love how you used the colors. The raised, scalloped frame is a great touch.

I love your Big Ideas tip. Simple and easy but adds a great color punch. You show that cards can be simple and quick to make, but yet still have that beautiful wow factor. Nice work!
