It's a Birthday week!

The challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges this week is an easy one - create a card or other project for a Birthday. I figured this was an appropriate challenge this week as I will turn the big 5-0 on Friday! I say that like I'm excited about the fact when in truth, not so much. But what are you gonna do? Might as well celebrate!

Here's my quick and easy card -

If you were able to grab one of the Triple Play promotions last month from Close To My Heart, you will recognize this as one of the mini album pages. I used it as a card which was pretty easy to do with a few minor adjustments.

I tri-folded the page and cut about an inch off the front right edge so I could punch a decorative border and create a beautiful front flap for my card. I decorated the front with the die cuts and stamps that came along with the kit and found the Happy Birthday sentiment in another set.

The ribbon from the kit was a little too bulky for the card (there are holes already punched that are used to bind the mini book together when you create it according to directions) so I substituted baker's twine in place of the ribbon. I didn't use the middle punched hole and once the bow was tied, you couldn't even see it.

This is a view of the inside which I kept very plain and added just a single die cut to so I could write a little something. When I use this card, I may add a little embellishment or stamped image inside the card, along with my message.

So that's it for me today but I hope you will stop by every day this week as I am going to be posting something fun to see each day leading up to my Birthday which will kick off a blog candy give-away!  I will also be posting on Ridiculous Lab every day this week with stories to share from the past 49+ years. I hope you'll join me! In the mean time, head over to the H2H blog and play along with our Birthday challenge.

See you soon!

This is way cool Mary! I still have one of those cute packages left and now I know what to do with it. I'm not really one for mini-albums like I use to be and this is a fantastic idea. If only I knew how to create those borders I'm seeing all over. :)

Love this kit used for cards, I'm not one for mini albums. I may just borrow this idea from you.
