Time for a sketchy Heart 2 Heart challenge!

Ok before I start this post, I have an announcement:

*** If your name is Kathy and you work with me, stop reading this post right now! You'll understand later today.***

Ok,I got that taken care of, now let's move along!

This week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge is a sketch challenge. We made it a fairly simple sketch so everyone can play along. Here is the sketch:

Now keep in mind that a sketch doesn't have to be followed literally. You can flip it, substitute a different shape for the circle and so on - it will even work as a layout! One "rule" to keep in mind though - a majority of products used must be from Close To My Heart.

Here's my sample:

Today is my friend Kathy's birthday - we work together and this will be her Birthday card. And since she reads my blog often, I hope I convinced her not to read and spoil seeing her card ahead of time. After all, it's all she's getting! *(well, not exactly - I'm treating to breakfast too!)

So everything I used is from CTMH except the cream cardstock and the ribbon. The paper pack is called Bella, the flower is from Thoughts of You, the border stamp is from Boutique Borders and the sentiment is from.....drats, I don't recall the name. Oh well, moving on....  Oh and I forgot, the frame stamp around the flower is also not CTMH (sorry!)

I ink distressed the edges of the pieces using Bamboo ink and the other inks used are Amethyst, Pansy Purple and Olive. To tie in the ribbon color, I also colored a little bit of the flower image with a Copic marker that matched almost perfectly!

I hope I have inspired you to play along with us at Heart 2 Heart Challenges this week! Just use the sketch as a starting point and get creative! You have until Sunday night at 10:00 pm EST and you might even win a great prize package from our sponsor for the week, Diane Cook. And while you're at the challenge blog, be sure to check out what the rest of the DT created with this sketch. Stunning, I tell ya!

Finally if you haven't joined our group at Facebook or at Paper Craft Planet, you will want to join in - there will be something special going on there later this week!

I'll be back this afternoon with as part of an Organizational Blog Hop from the StampingBloggers group - I hope you'll check in then!

Beautiful card. I have this stamp set and haven't used it yet, for some reason thought it had to be used in a BIG way. Great work, looks wonderful. TFS!
