It's My Birthday and You Get the Present!

Yep today is my Birthday - not a monumental one but one with a double digit high enough that I wish not to reveal it. (Oh ok, I'm 49). Anyhow, I am celebrating the day by going to work, dragging my butt home and taking a nap and then a free birthday burger at Red Robin for dinner. Do I walk on the wild side or what? Actually, I do get to have a family "party" this weekend that will include brunch out, gifts and cupcakes! Yes, I am excited about the cupcakes. Especially the spice ones :)

So in honor of my birthday today, I have a present that I want to share with you! But first, I have to reminisce (hmmm...is that spelled right?) about that birthday me in the picture above. I was maybe 3 or 4 in that photo and that crown? That was something we all took turns wearing whenever it was our birthday. An idea my mom thought up. Why, I have no idea but we all enjoyed getting to wear the crown. You can just see my mom in the mirror standing up toward the right side and my dad (Miss you, Dad!!!) is sitting in the room behind me, right behind my head. His birthday was just a week or so before mine so we always celebrated together but I guess I got to wear the crown cause we only had one of them.

Here's a birthday card I created (not for myself, silly!) to share with you:

Stamps are from Unity Stamp Co. Not sure where the paper is from - these were leftovers from another project. A few Dew Drops trim up the card.

Ok so as I mentioned, I have a prize package to give away in honor of my birthday. In order to be eligible, there are a few ways to enter. Here's what you have to do:
1. Leave me a comment on this post.
2. Create a birthday card, post it to your blog or other online gallery and mention in your post about the prize package I am giving away with a link to my blog. Then come back here and leave a comment so I check out your card.
3. Tell a friend to visit this post and leave a comment. They must leave me your name also in the comment so you get an extra chance in the drawing.
If you do all three things, you will be entered three or more times (depends on how many friends you send my way).

I will keep the contest open for one week, until Oct. 14th at midnight. I will announce the winner on Saturday, Oct. 17th. Here's what you can win:

A set of acrylic stamps from Close To My Heart (In My Heart), chipboard alphabet letters from Queen & Co., self-inking stamps from Just Rite Stampers, some ribbon and Prima flowers....a value of approx. $49 in honor of my 49th Birthday.

Thanks for visiting and have a creative day!

Mary, hope your birthday was nice. What is Red Robin? Sounds like a neat place. Love the pic of you and the story behind the crown. What a great idea your mom had to wear it on your big day!

I will have to come back and enter your blog candy contest. There are so many October birthdays; myself included.
