This week's Corrosive Challenge by Janet is to create a shaped card. We had a ton of players last week so I hope you'll play along with this week's challenge as well. Here's my card:
I decided to go octagonal with this little winter greeting. I used the largest octagon Nestabilities die and cut the folded piece of white cardstock with one edge of the die hanging off the piece, allowing the fold to stay intact.
I then Cuttlebug embossed the front of the card and added my elements including a belly band that wraps around the card - you can see it better in the next photo:
See the piece at the bottom? It's simply a band of white cardstock that I pierced along the bottom edge and free hand cut along the top edge to resemble rolling snow. To it, I added a little piece of light blue velvet ribbon and my adorable snowman (image from Close To My Heart). This whole piece then slips over the card and holds it closed.
Here's the Big Ideas for the week!
* Try your hand at a shaped card - they're fun and easy! And when you do, be sure to link it up at Corrosive Challenges for a chance to win~
* Try adding a belly band to your next card of any shape. It makes your presentation a little more interesting with just a simple addition.
I'll be back later today with another post - an entry for a spot on the DT of House Mouse and Friends Challenge blog. Until then - have a creative day!

What an adorable card! I've been enjoying circle cards but the octagon is cool. Belly bands (on crafty projects at least) are so much fun! Thanks for the challenges and ideas.
I struggle with shape cards, but this one is great! that little snowman is adorable.
