Corrosive Coffee!

Sorry I'm a little late posting today....I kinda forgot it was Sunday already! Geesh!

Anywho, I have a cutie little project to share with you that is super simple to create. It's a little coffee/tea/hot chocolate pocket card that I created for Corrosive Challenge this week - the theme of the challenge is coffee and tea. You can play along by creating anything coffee or tea related and then link up at the challenge blog - you might win a fun prize!

So on to my project:

Here's the basic directions - the size of this card is 4 x 6 and there is a 1/4" spine instead of a single fold. This creates a little space inside the card for a pocket (see photo below). The base is made from cream cardstock and the kraft piece on the front has a window cut out that creates a frame for the image (from Impression Obsession). Before I adhered the kraft piece to the card front, I stamped it with the Text stamps from PTI and the small cup from the IO coffee set and I added a tiny flower image that was inked with Sorbet CTMH ink. The left edge was then punched and the entire piece was ink distressed around the edges.

Once I adhered the kraft piece onto the card front, I adhered the strips of ribbon (also from CTMH) around the card at the top and bottom so I could tie the card closed. The image itself was lightly watercolored with Sorbet ink and a little Brown Bag ink. The two cups in the center were highlighted a little with a white gel pen.

Here's the inside. I simply cute a piece of the kraft cardstock that was all stamped and scored twice on three sides and then adhered inside the card with Scor-Tape. Holds a slim packet of hot chocolate perfectly! Although my sentiment mentions coffee, and you could tuck something coffee related into the pocket by all means, but I'm not a coffee drinker so there wasn't anything I could use that fit that theme. Hot chocolate - yes, coffee - no.

Here's the Big Ideas for the day:

* Use a great background stamp (like the Text stamp) right over other images for a funky, collage-y look.
* Not all cards have to be plain, normal sized, one fold down the side cards. Experiment with different sizes, folds and even adding a simple pocket to tuck a goody into.
* Frame an image instead of stamping and adding the stamped piece on top of the base...just another way to create a unique look.
