Christmas in July and Picture Perfect!

I am not posting a So Sketchy Sunday sketch tonight - I think I am going to skip this week as I have so many other things on my plate right now. But look for one next Sunday in order to wrap up the month of sketches.

Tonight I have a couple of quick cards to share with you. The first was created for two challenges - the 1st was presented by Shirley's 2 Girls. The challenge was to create a Christmas card that was not square or rectangle. The 2nd challenge is from Our Creative Corner where the challenge is to use 3 different embellishments on a card.



I made the card using an Octagon Nestabilites die, paper pieced the image from Shirley's 2 Girls with Basic Grey paper and stamped a few holly leaves from Close To My Heart around the outside edges. The embellishments include the brads on the couch, the sparkles for the holly berries and the ribbon at the top. The words "...nestled all snug in their beds..." were handwritten by me. I think it turned out pretty cute for being a quickie.

The 2nd card tonight is a Gracie card from Sherrod Studio. I think Gracie is so darn cute that I wanted her "photo" to be framed and hung on the wall for all to see! I think she is just picture perfect!



I stamped and colored her and cut a circle that would fit in my "frame" from Close To My Heart, then I added cording and a brad at the top so it looks like a real framed photo hanging on the wall. The paper is all from Papertrey Ink and I tried to use patterns that would reflect wallpaper, with the ribbon as chair-railing. Sorry for the bad lighting on this photo - I changed lightbulbs in one of my lamps and it really didn't work out too well...guess I need to go back to the lighting I was using before!
