TimeOut Tuesday - sneak peeks and free stamps!

So have you enjoyed the sneak peeks from Sherrod Studio so far? I hope you are checking out all of the peeks the team is sharing and leaving comments so you have a chance to win a free stamp set! The grand opening of Sherrod Studio is July 1st and the winners will be announced then. Today is my day to choose a winner so be sure to leave me a comment!

On to the sneak of the day! I love the By The Seashore set - there's the awesome image of the kids playing in the sand that you saw in an earlier post but there is also a lot of sentiments, a sand pail, sand castles - all kinds of summer fun images!

Today I thought I would share a beach themed party idea with you using the sand castle image and the seashell border stamp.

These images can be dressed up or kept cutesy and for this theme, I decided that more elegant was the ticket!

I started with the card/invitation that features a couple different colors of brown and blues and a light mossy green. All of the pieces of cardstock were sponged with distressing ink to give a more worn look. I kept the sand castles monochromatic except for the tiny flag at the top that I colored blue. I also added some prisma glitter to the castles for a sophisticated sparkle but the camera didn't pick that up very well.

I love the saying - From our castle to yours! - perfect for an invitation. I duplicated the image on a tag that I tied around a candle holder for a decoration and also duplicated the shell border that was matted and wrapped around a napkin for a finishing touch. I think the decorative cording adds an outdoorsy, beachy feel to the pieces and ties them all together.

I filled my candle holder with shredded paper scraps that I sliced really thin with my paper trimmer and then crimped with a corrugator tool...it worked great although I think I would also love sand in the candle base even better!

You definitely want to check out the reat of the sneak peeks today so stop by and see what's up with:

Kim

and at the Sherrod Studio blog!

But before you go, be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win a free stamp set!

And come back tomorrow for the grand opening celebration! From July 1 - 7th, Sherrod Studio will be offering free shipping on all orders! Have a creative day and I will see you tomorrow!
