It's Friday Featuring....Design Team tryouts~!

Yes, some day I really hope to be added to a Design Team. I have so many favorite stamp companies and shopping sites and blogs....someone will hopefully choose me someday, dontcha think? Anyhow, when one of my favorites, Lauren Meader, decided to look for new team members, I just had to give it a shot! Lauren is the creator of the awesome Timeless Templates at PaperTrey Ink which I adore (I will post my Filed with Flair item tomorrow) and I visit her blog daily!

In order to complete my "application", Lauren provided three sketches to use to create a card from and submit for her consideration. I couldn't stop at just one card - I created a card for all three sketches!

Here they are - I would love your feedback!

The first card features the beautiful Anya from The Greeting Farm. The kraft cardstock was punched and threaded with white embroidery floss and then matted onto Twilight cardstock from Close To My Heart. The DP is from an unknown source - I couldn't find a name on it anywhere! The Garnet cardstock is also from Close To My Heart and the kraft and white cardstock is from PTI. The saying is from another PTI set, Damask Designs, and the pearls are also from an unknown source. But hey, a girl's gotta have pearls, no matter where they come from, right??

This card I really love as I had a chance to play with my new Spots and Dots background stamp set as well as the new Guidelines cardstock from PaperTrey Ink. Unbelievably fun!!!! The color looks a little off in this photo, the main piece of the card is really much whiter. The Spots and Dots were stamped on the new Guidelines cs with Memento ink and then the "centers" of the flower-like shape in the row was colored with a Copic marker. The light Stone cardstock (also from PTI) was embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and added next. The final piece, the black cardstock, was added with a ribbon tied around it and a tag pinned to it. Finally the three squares were added with pop dots for dimension and feature images from the Guidelines 1 stamp set, also stamped in Memento ink and colored with Copics.

This last card really brightens things up a bit and uses the colors for KJ's Color Chef challenge this week: Watermelon, Sunflower, Black and White. Again, I used the new Guidelines cardstock, this time with images from the Guidelines 2 set, to create my background. The main image is from the Text Boxed set (also from PTI) and was trimmed with 2 ribbon brads and tiny bright pink sparkles.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me. I am hoping to get some yard work done this weekend as we are supposed to have great weather! We'll see how much actually gets done! Oh and tomorrow night, we are heading to our first Mud Hens game of the season - always a good time! However you spend your weekend, I hope it's a creative one!
