First, the highs - I am proud to be an American...and enjoyed the celebration of inaugurating our new President yesterday. I hope that he can bring about the change we need so desperately need in this country, and we can begin to revive as a nation.
Now, the lows - it is with a very heavy heart that, during a day that started with hopes and dreams, our family experienced a devastating loss - my daughter, at 22 weeks pregnant, lost the baby girl she was carrying. She delivered this morning at 7:45 am and there will be a burial service in the coming days. I am heartbroken beyond belief and while I know they can try again, the loss of their first child, our first grandchild, is something that I will not put behind me any time soon.
I will not be posting for a few days as I help her and her husband cope, make arrangements and try to move forward.

Oh Mary! I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't know you personally, only through your blog and CTMH, but I'm just crying for you and your daughter. I'm glad that she has you. I lost my first and my mom was not there for me and it is still hard! It has been six years on the 4th of Feb. Anyway, just wanted you to know that you and your family are in thoughts and prayers of those who don't even "know" you.
Hi Mary-
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during the difficult time. I pray that you receive the strength and courage to see brighter days ahead!
I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep your whole family in my prayers. May God ease your sorrow.

Mary & Aimee, I can't begin to express how sorry I am. I've been crying all morning, for the loss of your baby girl and the loss of your hopes & dreams for a life with her. No, you won't be able to put it behind you soon. But I pray that our thoughts & prayers make it a tiny bit easier each day.

Oh Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Mary, I'm sorry for your loss. I know your name from CTMH (I used to be a consultant). My first pregnancy was triplets - they came at 25 weeks and I lost my two daughters within two weeks. My son survived but the experience was beyond devastating. Looking back I still can't see how I survived. But really it came down to taking it moment by moment...and I admit a good grief counselor helped as well.
