Hey cupcake

It's nice to have the Christmas hub-bub over - as much as I love the season, it feels good to get back to "normal". I haven't had a chance to try any sketches lately so thought I would get back in the swing of things with one from Taylor - here's the deets:

You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? You're welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you'll be eligible for the Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you're uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC48 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 48). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so I can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, December 29th at 8am PST to be eligible for the featured cupcake sampler. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the sketch.
And here's my sample:

All products are from Close To My Heart except the button and ric rac and the Cinnamon Stickles added to the jimmies on the frosting and also coating the button. The cupcake is paper pieced with the frosting section popped up for added dimension. Also, as it is hard to see in this card, the white nestie border is actually a frame that was cut and added over a layer of Vineyard Berry cardstock. This also adds a little dimension to the focal area.

This is going to be added to my birthday card stash - I am hoping to be much better in 2009 with sending out birthday cards - on time!

Have a great day!
