Pink Embossed Ornament

It's time for another Corrosive Challenge and this time we're challenging you to incorporate embossing (heat or dry) into your project. Here is my card, featuring Vintage Ornaments again from PaperTrey Ink:

Sorry about the lousy camera angle on this - I must have been nodding off when I took the picture!

Anyhow, let me tell you a little about this card, including some weekly Big Ideas! All products used are from PTI except the silver accent paper (found at Target last year at holiday time) and the embellishments (rhinestone from Close To My Heart).

Here's some ideas for you to try from this card:
* I stamped the ornament on white cardstock and also on a post-it note. Cut the ornament out of the post-it note and throw it away because you need the remaining piece of post-it to create a reverse mask. Normally when you mask something, your mask goes over your image but with a reverse mask, the image is not covered but the rest of the area around the image is. Then I overstamped the ornament with an image from the Damask stamp set and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to add texture and interest to my ornament.
*Keep your card mono chromatic for a subtle, yet dramatic effect. A pop of silver on this card adds just enough of a contrast to an all pink card (white doesn't count as a color....)
*Don't forget to highlight your die cut shape by creating a frame with pen (in this case, a silver pen) by leaving the die in place and using it as a guideline - perfect every time!

Want to play along with us this week at Corrosive? There's a prize up for grabs every week! Just create your project using some embossing and link it up the Corrosive blog for a chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday! Mine will be spent helping my son complete a poetry project (and listening to him complain about it through the entire process) and possibly doing a little housework as the dust bunnies are starting to gain control!

Until next time - have a creative day!
