This week on Corrosive Challenges, we were challenged to create anything but a card. And being in a Fall mood, I wanted to come up with a little something I could use as a decoration on my desk. So here's my Harvest Basket:
I kept it fairly straight forward and plain, like a real basket, although the template (from PaperTrey Ink) comes with a section that you can easily decorate and add to your basket but I thought the woven kraft would be perfect for the look I was trying to achieve. One of the things I love about the templates from PTI (and Lauren Meader) is the sturdiness of the finished project - you could easily add a gift item to this basket and it would hold it very nicely and would be an awesome gift presentation.
This is the smaller of the baskets in the set (the template is called Pack a Picnic) and it goes together pretty easily. For $5, these templates are well worth it! I used kraft cardstock for the entire basket and punched the decorative edge of the basket with an EK Success slim border punch. The tag that is hanging on the basket is stamped with an image from a set by Pink Paislee and then was cut with a circle Nestabilities die, added to a pinked circle Nestabilities cut mat and another circle Nestabilities cut mat. Here's a close-up:
The words look kind of choppy because that is the way the image is - sort of rustic and weathered looking. The image was inked in Goldrush ink and then rolled about a bit in Chocolate ink so there is a little color variation throughout.
So how about trying your hand at "anything but a card"! If you want to join in the fun, head over to the Corrosive Challenges blog and enter your artwork for a chance to win a prize! And be sure to check out what the rest of the team created!
Have a great day and be creative!
