Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

It's time once again for the monthly Papertrey Ink blog hop! I didn't participate last month but my goal for 2011 is to participate every month this year.

Here is the theme for this month:

"With the new year comes a clean slate along with many resolutions. This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust! Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold. 2011 is the year where what's old is new again!"

So I went through my stamps and came across Beyond Basic Borders - one of those "I must have it" sets that I don't think has ever seen ink. I paired it with Love Birds and here is the results:

I used both the Bitty Dots paper and Happy Spots paper and some Melon Berry cardstock for the base. I stamped one of the borders on the base and then layered my DP. The tree was stamped onto white cardstock and cut out in 2 pieces - the trunk was cut by hand and the top was cut with the scalloped circle Nestie. These pieces were then added to a beige piece of cardstock (not PTI) that I embossed with the text impression plate. The bird was stamped, cut out and added to the tree and the tied buttons finish everything off.

Thanks for stopping by and I am looking forward to what everyone else is creating for the hop! For the complete list of participants, head to {capture the moment}. Have fun hopping!

  4. You need to use this set again since you created a fabulous card with it. I'm enthralled with how you worked with the circles in the stamp design. That repetition really ties this card together into one great design.
