Foil Ornament

Have you ever had an idea in your head for a card that you just couldn't wait to try? For some reason, I decided I wanted to make a card with a background created from stamped ornaments. I originally thought of stamping them in black, then had a change of heart when I sat down to create and this is the final product:

I started with Vintage Cream cardstock and I stamped the ornament (from Vintage Ornaments) in Memento gray ink, in two rows, each going a different direction. Then I ran the piece through the Cuttlebug with the Guidelines impression plate. I punched the corners using a Martha Stewart border punch and wrapped a piece of Pure Poppy satin ribbon around the card. After mounting this piece to Pure Poppy cardstock, I added an ornament that was die cut from foil paper and decorated with bands of sparkles and a red bow. A simple "Deck the Halls" sentiment was added. All products are from Papertrey Ink.

What do you think? It's a little funky but I think I really like it!

Slowly but surely I am getting my Christmas cards done! Have you started yours yet?

I will be back again soon with more goodies to share - including some recipes over at Ridiculous Lab that might just come in handy for Thanksgiving Day!
