Before I get to the weekly post for Shirley's 2 Girls, I have an awesome sale announcement to pass along:
I know! How cool is that? Get 'em while you can cause I am sure they will be selling like hotcakes!!
Ok so now onto the artwork for the week. Our challenge at Shirley's 2 Girls is to include lined notebook paper somewhere in our Back to School project. Here's a notepad that I created a cover for - perfect for back to school!
I decided to be a little footloose when it came to the coloring and let it look like a kid might have colored it. Trust me, keeping it this way still bothers me because I am so used to clean lines but it's ok to have some childlike fun once in awhile, right?
After coloring the school house, I mounted it to the DP (this is the flip side of the larger piece of DP on this project) and then to the front of the cover. I die cut the lined notebook paper with the ticket die from PTI and trimmed it with a double band of ribbon and the words and finished everything up with a couple of buttons to match the colors on the cover. Then just adhere the cover over the top edge and around onto the back of the notepad and you have a cutie little back-to-school goody!
I hope you will join in the fun at S2G and add a little notebook paper to your project and then leave a link so we can all be inspired! I'll be back again soon - I am currently "baking" in Florida and surrounded by Star Wars geeks but having a blast anyhow! See you soon!
this is so cute and I love how you used all the patterned papers!
