Back to School with H2H!

I have been in a Back to School mode although I don't have young children any more. But I still enjoy starting the routine of the school season, even though my youngest is in college. So this week, with the theme at Heart 2 Heart Challenges being Back to School, I went the route of thanking some of the hardest working people around - the teachers. Now it may not be the norm to give a thank you card to a college professor but you never know when someone will come into your life that really deserves an extra nod of appreciation. As a matter of fact, my son was pleasantly surprised to return from vacation to find a letter waiting for him from his favorite high school teacher who just wanted to write because he was thinking of Jacob and wondering how he was doing. What a nice gesture! That's why the kids love you Mr. S!

Ok so on to my card -

There's is nothing more iconic for a teacher than an apple so that's what I wanted to use for this teacher thank you card. The apples (from Close To My Heart) were stamped with black ink and colored with Copic markers. The border punch is from Martha Stewart and the ribbon from PTI. All paper is from Close To My Heart. Simple and sweet and just right for a little note of thanks for a special person.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT made over at the challenge blog - you will be wowed with all the fabulous artwork and variety! Then play along - we want to see what you can create for a Back to School theme!

Until next time, have a creative day!

  4. Great idea. I sometimes have to think outside the box too. I do not have kids so some challenges are hard. Great coloring of the apples they look real enough to eat.
