H2H Sketch Challenge

This week at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog, we are working with a sketch from the CTMH publication Wishes. If you are not familiar with this or any of the other gorgeous "coffee-table" style books that Close To My Heart offers, you are really missing out on something awesome!

Wishes is a card makers dream (Originals is another title for card makers and for scrapbookers there is Imagine and Cherish). These "blueprint" books are not only loaded with color samples of finished creations making them tremendous idea books, but they also include specific cutting and assembly directions for every card/layout shown so you can simply pick a look you like, follow the plan and create something beautiful quickly and easily. So this week we are working with a sketch from Wishes titled City Scape. Angela, another Design Team member, created a graphic for those without this book so you can play along with the sketch  - here it is:

In the book, this is a small card, measuring 4 3/4 x 3 but you can scale it to a size that works for you. I stuck with the small size but made a couple of little changes  -

First thing you notice is that I rotated the card and have the fold at the top. The other change I made was to eliminate a mat behind my image. Otherwise, it's pretty much the sketch!

All products are from CTMH. The image was colored with Copics and the leaves were cut out and adhered separately in order to create the little overhang off the edge of the focal piece. The top border was punched with 2 different Fiskars punches.
