Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge!!

I really love the products from Papertrey Ink but I never participated in their monthly blog hop - until tonight! The theme for this Blog Hop is favorite color combos. One of my favorites is Ripe Avocado, Berry Sorbet and Spring Moss. And my new favorite stamp set has to be Friendship Jar and Friendship Jar Fillers.

So this is the card I came up with - and I think it is super cute - hope you like it too:

I know, right? Is that just too darn adorable or what? Here's what I used to make this fun card:

The small dot patterned paper is from Bitty Dot Basics (although the Sorbet one looks a little different...hmmmm.....maybe I grabbed the wrong thing? anyhow - - - - ) and the cardstock is Spring Moss. I embossed the Spring Moss with the PTI Canvas/Linen impression plate (LOVE!) and stitched along the top edge of the dot paper. The zig zag was cut with a PTI die and added to the top edge of the card.

Now for my pickle jar - I stamped the empty jar with gray ink onto Vintage Cream cardstock and cut it out. And I inked up my pickle image with Spring Moss ink and stamped it all around, masking so the pickles look like they overlap each other. The pickles were then colored with a few different shades of Copic markers to make them look sort of real. A little very light green around the outer edges of the pickles added a little color to the "water" in the jar.

I stamped the lid in gray ink, cut it out and added it to the top of the jar and fancied it all up with a stamped "ruffle" that I cut out and I tied a piece of rustic twine.  I also stamped the sentiment on Vintage Cream and added a little rustic twine to it as well. Oh and to finish it all off, I added a piece of clear cardstock (also from PTI- they have everything!) that I trimmed to fit the jar, complete with wavy top edge for the liquid in the jar and adhered in a couple of tiny spots so you couldn't see the adhesive unless you looked.
