Talkin' Turkey - Sherrod Studio Release Day!

First off, if you are trying to access MyGrafico to find some cute dino images so you can play along with our weekly challenge, their server is experiencing problems and I am not sure when they will be back up. Things are on old over there right now till the issue is fixed so keep checking back!

Today is the release day for Sherrod Studio! There are three sets being released:

All Hallow's Eve
Harvest Blessings
Friendship Blossoms

These are the perfect sets for your Autumn stamping! And don't forget, run on over to the Sherrod Studio blog and leave a comment for Kim - one lucky commenter will win one of the new sets!

Here's my artwork for today, featuring Harvest Blessings and the awesome turkey in the set:

Isn't he amazing?? So lifelike! This was such a fun card to make. I also incorporated the sketch from Taylor's Cupcake Challenge #77 as well as color inspiration from the challenge going on this week at Our Creative Corner. I love when things come together like that!

So here's a few details about the card. It's a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 size with the base being Chocolate cardstock from Close To My Heart. Then the DPs I used are from My Mind's Eye and Heidi Grace. The rub ons are also from Close To My Heart and the Vintage Cream cardstock is from PaperTrey Ink. I added a couple of tiny sparkles to the rub-ons (also from Taylored Expressions) and a couple of buttons from my stash. I wasn't sure how to finish off the buttons so I cut little strips of paper and just tucked it into the button holes...almost looks like stitching.

The turkey was stamped on some the Heidi Grace DP and colored with Copics, then cut out and added to the oval. Then I lightly went around the bottom portion of the turkey with a C1 Copic for a little shadow. The entire turkey piece is foam tape mounted as is the sentiment, also from the Harvest Blessings set.

So that's it for me for today...the rest of the afternoon consists of a nap as I have had very little sleep dealing with the sick kid. We went to the doctor's yesterday and he has a doozy of a sinus infection...coughing, runny nose, sore throat, fever... you name it! And he's not sleeping, like at all, so mom has gotten little sleep as well. I feel sorry for him and helpless cause I can't make it better. It's hard when you're 21 and still have to rely on mom for things like wiping your nose, covering you with a blanket when you're cold and then taking it off when you're hot...poor guy! I know it sucks for him more than for me but I still whine about it when I can. Now as long as I don't get sick!

Have a great afternoon! I will try to be back tomorrow with more goodies to show (if I get a little stamping time in today).

Love the images you stamped in the corners!!

My mom would love this turkey image - it reminds me of this ceramic turkey she painted and serves as a centerpiece on her Thanksgiving table.
